Out there things can happen and frequently do\u00a0<\/div>\n
to people as brainy and footsy as you.<\/div>\n

And when things start to happen, don\u2019t worry.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Don\u2019t stew. Just go right along.\u00a0<\/div>\n
You\u2019ll start happening too.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Oh! The Places You\u2019ll Go!<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
You\u2019ll be on your way up!<\/div>\n
You\u2019ll be seeing great sights!<\/div>\n
You\u2019ll join the high fliers who soar to high heights.<\/div>\n

and Hang-ups can happen to you.<\/div>\n

You can get all hung up in a prickle-ly perch.\u00a0<\/div>\n
And your gang will fly on. You\u2019ll be left in a Lurch.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
You\u2019ll come down from the Lurch with an unpleasant bump.\u00a0<\/div>\n
And the chances are, then, that you\u2019ll be in a Slump.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
And when you\u2019re in a Slump, you\u2019re not in for much fun.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Un-slumping yourself is not easily done.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
You will come to a place where the streets are not marked.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Some windows are lighted. But mostly they\u2019re darker.\u00a0<\/div>\n
A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin!\u00a0<\/div>\n
Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in?\u00a0<\/div>\n
How much can you lose? How much can you win?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
And if you go in, should you turn left or right\u2026<\/div>\n
or right-and-three-quarters?\u00a0<\/div>\n
Or, maybe, not quite?\u00a0<\/div>\n
Or go around back and sneak in from behind?\u00a0<\/div>\n
Simple it\u2019s not, I\u2019m afraid you will find,\u00a0<\/div>\n
for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
You can get so confused that you\u2019ll start in\u00a0<\/div>\n
to race down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace\u00a0<\/div>\n
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,\u00a0<\/div>\n
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Waiting Place\u2026for people just waiting.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come,\u00a0<\/div>\n
or a plane to go or the mail to come,\u00a0<\/div>\n
or the rain to go or the phone to ring,\u00a0<\/div>\n
or the snow to snow or waiting around for a Yes or No\u00a0<\/div>\n
or waiting for their hair to grow.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Everyone is just waiting.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite\u00a0<\/div>\n
or waiting around for Friday night or waiting, perhaps,\u00a0<\/div>\n
for\u00a0their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil, or a Better Break or a string of pearls,\u00a0<\/div>\n
or a pair of pants or a wig with curls,\u00a0<\/div>\n
or Another Chance.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Everyone is just waiting.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
No! That\u2019s not for you!<\/div>\n
Somehow you\u2019ll escape all that waiting and staying.\u00a0<\/div>\n
You\u2019ll find the bright places where Boom Bands are playing.\u00a0<\/div>\n
With banner flip-flapping, once more you\u2019ll ride high!\u00a0<\/div>\n
Ready for anything under the sky.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Ready because you\u2019re that kind of a guy!<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Oh, the places you\u2019ll go!\u00a0<\/div>\n
There is fun to be done!\u00a0<\/div>\n
There are points to be scored.\u00a0<\/div>\n
There are games to be won.\u00a0<\/div>\n
And the magical things you can do with that ball\u00a0<\/div>\n
will make you the winning-est winner of all.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Fame! You\u2019ll be famous as famous can be,\u00a0<\/div>\n
with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Except when they don\u2019t. Because, sometimes, they won\u2019t.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I\u2019m afraid that some times you\u2019ll play lonely games too.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Games you can\u2019t win \u2018cause you\u2019ll play against you.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
All Alone!<\/div>\n
Whether you like it or not,\u00a0<\/div>\n
Alone will be something you\u2019ll be quite a lot.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
And when you\u2019re alone, there\u2019s a very good chance you\u2019ll\u00a0<\/div>\n
meet things that scare you right out of your pants.\u00a0<\/div>\n
There are some, down the road between hither and yon,\u00a0<\/div>\n
that can scare you so much you won\u2019t want to go on.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
But on you will go though the weather be foul.\u00a0<\/div>\n
On you will go though your enemies prowl.\u00a0<\/div>\n
On you will go though the Hakken-Kraks howl.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Onward up many a frightening creek,\u00a0<\/div>\n
though your arms may get sore and your sneakers may leak.\u00a0<\/div>\n
On and on you will hike.\u00a0<\/div>\n
And I know you\u2019ll hike far\u00a0<\/div>\n
and face up to your problems whatever they are.<\/div>\n

You\u2019ll get mixed up, of course, as you already know.\u00a0<\/div>\n
You\u2019ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go.\u00a0<\/div>\n
So be sure when you step.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Step with care and great tact\u00a0<\/div>\n
and remember that Life\u2019s a Great Balancing Act.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.\u00a0<\/div>\n
And never mix up your right foot with your left.<\/div>\n
