Shepard Fairey "CASIS ARK 1" Patch Design

When this project was brought to me I really was just awed by the idea that I could do something in a realm in which very few people other have done…it’s special, it’s a really special thing, and it…I’m flattered and honored that I could create something that becomes, you know, a symbol of how things can move forward. You know the excitement of the unknown…you know, to be part of that is really, a cool thing…you know, I’m, amazingly spoiled in the range of awesome projects I’ve gotten to do, but, this is something that I’ve never been able to do, and, I think it is maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity.

CASIS is the non-profit organization charged with managing the

Great Work by Cody Edwards: Mars Society Conference Poster 2013

Mars Society Press Release:

“As part of the planning for the 16th Annual International Mars Society Convention, a contest was held to invite designs for the primary poster to represent the convention and its two main themes – ‘Finding Life on Mars’ and ‘Bringing Life to Mars.’

After reviewing more than a dozen submissions, the Mars Society’s contest committee is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2013 Mars Society Poster Contest is Cody Edwards of North Carolina.

“We were very pleased with Cody’s creativity, including the incorporation of a magnifying glass, representing the ongoing search for life on Mars, into the design of his poster,” said Michael Stoltz, Director of Media & Public Relations for the Mars Society.

The Mars Society would also like to recognize four of the participating designers for special honorable mention – Ludovic Celle of France, the Dallas Mars Society chapter, Mark Eberhardt of New York and Katarina Eriksson of Sweden.

In addition, the organization wishes to express its appreciation to all the other digital artists who submitted posters to the annual contest.”

Google Asteroid Doodle

“Out of respect for those injured in the extraordinary meteor shower in Russia earlier today, we have removed today’s doodle from the Google homepage,” a Google spokesperson told ABC News. “The doodle was created to mark Asteroid 2012 DA14 passing Earth.”

Lissa Treiman "The Magical Space Adventures of Shaw and David"

From her blog Treimanized!…”The ending [of Prometheus] was one of the (although probably not the most) ridiculous things about the film. “Wants-to-be-Ripley-and-i-can’t-remember-her-first-name” Shaw takes off to travel the universe with the robot head that murdered her meat-head boyfriend. I say we give them their own show. So here is my proposed follow-up to ‘Prometheus’: ‘The Magical Space Adventures of Shaw and David'” I could draw these two forever. Seriously. Such an awful movie, so much fun to draw floating heads in space 🙂 “
