NewSpace 2012: Eric Anderson of Planetary Resources
"Thank you man of tomorrow…" Jon Steward on Planetary Resources
“Space pioneers going to mine mother fucking asteroids!! For precious materials – boom! boom! Yes!! Stu is all in! -You know how rarely the news in 2012 looks and sounds how you thought news would look and sound in 2012. The only thing missing in my futuristic fantasy is newsman Scott Kelly’s non-futuristic sense of style…the best part, ain’t no government boondoggle.”

Check out this video about printing a rocket engine! (Imagine launching telerobotic miners to Phobos and Deimos from Mars settlements…entirely constructed on Mars : )
A Genuine Intellectual with Integrity, John Lewis on Asteroid Mining and Mars Settlement
“Our first goal is not to settle space, but to make space so economically attractive that it will settle itself.”
“Pass carbon dioxide in the atmosphere through electrolysis with what is essentially a ceramic membrane and split it into carbon monoxide and oxygen. Liquify the carbon monoxide and oxygen and you have rocket fuel and rocket oxidizer. The performance of a carbon monoxide/oxygen engine is inferior to that of cryogenic propellants because you’re already using carbon that’s half burned. But – it’s sufficient to get off of Mars. With a single stage.”

Greg was also a guest on this episode of The Space Show:
Another guest speaking about telerobotics, Phil Metzger, may be interesting too:
